Home again

We are back home - actually we have been for a few weeks now. We had a wonderful time out in CA! The flight out was a little rough on us, but we made it without any "major" meltdowns. I'm home sick today, but am trying to get a lot of the little things done that I haven't had time for the past couple weeks.

Here are some pictures from our trip.

The first ones are from the amazing Paper Tales store in San Diego.

We also popped into a couple antique stores, but I didn't take any pictures.

The rest of the trip we spent hanging out with Jen and her boys. We played outside...

Went to the park....

Ate pretzels and fruit from the chocolate fountain.....
Had an absolutely amazing breakfast at the beach....

And had a blast playing along the waters edge. And if you have some time you have to stop by Mimi's blog ~ Dandelion Wishes ~ she has beautiful pictures of just some of the things she's created...and right now she's celebrating her 1 year blogiversary!! Happy Birthday Dandelion Wishes!! Here's to many more to come!

No excuses

Well, I sure hope you haven't been holding your breath - waiting for another post from me ;) It's been an extremely busy year ~ busier than I had ever imagined! Between working and trying to be the best mum I could be, some things just had to get moved to the back burner - my blog being one of those things. So rather than bore you with a list of excuses I'll just share a couple fun things that I've been working on and things that I'm going to be doing.

I've been very lucky to have found a wonderful store near my house to sell some of the things I've been making - mostly banners, cards and some little books. It's called Treasures in Thyme ( isn't that just an adorable name?). The owners are two of the nicest women, and they have an amazing eye for unique and wonderful gifts and antiques. Right now I'm working on some onsies to sell. They are turning out pretty cute if I might say so myself. Hope to get some good pics of them to post soon.

And next Friday the Doodle-Bug and I are leaving for LA for almost a week to see my best friend Jenn! I'm so excited!! There are so many wonderful places we are hoping to see while we are out there this time... Paper Tales and Vignettes being two of the places I want to see during our trip to San Diego. We are also going to spend some time at the beach - and I can't wait! The weather here has been so cold I can't wait for some sunshine and warm weather!

I'm off to bed - hope to get some pics taken and posted later this week!

A Rainy Friday

Been in one of those rainy day kinda moods today - work has been super hectic, traffic has been worse, and haven't had a chance to "play" much lately. Haven't had a chance to read any of my favorite blogs, let alone update mine. So I finally took a little time to myself this afternoon to catch up on some "me" stuff. As I was catching up on some blogs I came across Becky Novacek's and just loved this passage:

"be humble and gentle. be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love." eph 4:2

Seems that so many people around me have been having relationship troubles. I know that in some situations, things just don't end up working out between two people. Whether they pretended to be someone they weren't or they just drifted apart. With Dan and I coming up on our 5 year anniversary I'm so glad we've been one of the lucky couples. Sure we have our ups and downs, but I'm so lucky and so thankful to have him in my life. And to be blessed with having some wonderful relationship role models in my life, especially my parents. I know that I can be a difficult person to live with - and I'm so glad that Dan "makes allowances for my faults - because he loves me". I'm so thankful that he is so patient with me. I love you honey ~ you are my everything.

More Banners!

I had so much fun making the banner for Sheila, that I just had to make a couple more! Here are the pics of the two new banners I've made in the past couple weeks. They are similar, but still a little bit different :)

And here are pics of the second one I made :) The back of this one is pretty much the same as the first, just a different transparency.

My Celebrate Banner

Been really busy around here lately, but all is well now. My dad is at home tonight and feeling pretty good, so thank you to all my wonderful friends for all your thoughts and prayers!

I finally got pictures taken of the beautiful banner I recieved from Sheila - Thank You! I have it hanging in my living room and it looks just perfect!

Just look at the way she did the mini banners on this! I just LOVE the way the paper curls... and the phrase is just perfect! I can keep it up all year long. These pictures just don't do it justice - there is glitter on the little girls ribbon, and on the birds, and on the petals of the beautiful flower - it's just adorable! She even burned the corner of the postcard!
I really got lucky having Sheila as my partner! Thank you so much!!

Let's Go Pens!!!

WHOO HOO!! The Pittsburgh Penguins swept the series against the Ottawa Senators last night in a 3-1 win! Little Bug and I watched the game in our jerseys and cheered them onto victory! It was a very exciting game and the Pens played awesome! Way to go Pens!

Celebrate Banner Swap

Today was the day we could post pics of our banners for the GaGa Garland Swap hosted by Tamy Ottomeyer. My partner was Sheila, and I just got my banner in the mail today. And it's beautiful!! I just love it ~ Thank you Sheila! Totally my style and taste, and she did that all before I started my blog! Just from some pictures I'd posted out on Flickr and the few things I have in my also newly started etsy shop. She really did a great job! And I was so excited to open it up, I didn't even take a picture of the wrapping - it was in a black and cream toile tissue paper, tied with a big black ribbon - I LOVE toile! hehehehe I'll post pics tomorrow when I'm able to take a picture that actually does it justice. But you can see a pic of it here on Sheila's blog.

I really hope she enjoys mine, as much as I do her's - and as much as I did making it! It really was a lot of fun. Here are some pics ~enjoy!
